Fudge Paintbox- The Whiter Shade of Pale- Awesome toner for Blondes
2012
Oh lookie here, is that a second day of consecutive blog posts for miss chew? Well I think it is… Yay!
So now that I have absolutely and truly committed to being blonde which just as a little FYI they definitely have more fun!
I have now realised there is quite a bit of upkeep involved, so a little buyers caution if you are a little lazy with your hair care. I, however never shy away for a little extra maintenance…
Moving along when I was talking to my amazeballs Hairdresser Stevie English and my hair was completed I noticed it was still a little yellow, this is when I was introduced to the toning and silver shampoos of the world.
To start off with I am now using a weekly product just to tone my hair which is what I am talking about today. This product was recommended to me by my hairdresser and is only used once a week due to it’s sheer strength.
The product I am using is Fudge Paintbox- The Whiter Shade of Pale-$18.95. This is part of their colouring range to turn your hair all kinds of rad colours but this particular one also works as a toner. Now what do I mean by toner? A hair toner in my case neutralises the hair of brassier, yellow tones to a nice cooler blonde. The Paintbox range are all semi-permanent colours and are Ammonia Free and Peroxide Free.
To use this product as a toner: You shampoo hair and then hop out of the shower and towel dry your hair. Then using gloves distribute the product evenly through your hair, if you hair is ballayage then just to the ends. The using a comb, comb through product until it becomes frothy then leave in for 5-30 minutes. They also recommend wrapping your hair in cling wrap to enhance the development of colour, but you gotta keep checking just in case… Then you hop back in the shower and rinse off then Shampoo as normal again.
I find this product to be quite conditioning too. Anything I can do to make my hair keep that cool platnium blonde hue that I am so loving right now!
Where can I find this product?
I generally get my fudge products from Priceline and other chemists.
What toners do you use on your blonde hair? Have you used a toner before?
With Love,

I used the whiter shade of pale when I was blonde, it gave me good resulst to, but my holy grail toner was a Keune tinta colour, it was a bit more involved to use ( mixing the tint with the developer) but the results were incredible, all the brasiness gone but no purple tinge. It left my hair really shiny and silver blonde.
Glad your have a ball as a blonde

i have this toner in the house, and iam using it tomorrow but the thing is i have orange/ copper tone at top of my head the rest of my hair is fine. so do i just apply to the top of the hair where those parts are? and will it work? as i tried herbal blonde toner but it did nothing
also silve shampoo not helping either i dont have gloves to use so would it be ok to use on bare hands.
Hi Rachel,
I apologise for taking so long to get back to you. I would just use it on the roots where you see the problem. You do need to use gloves and one night when I didn’t have them, you know what I did, so embarressing, I put my hair in a plastic bag and used that as the glove, does that make sense? I know it sounds weird but it worked. Which silver shampoos have you been using?
