Cocowhip- Vegan soft serve ice-cream review

Cocowhip, have you heard of it before? Unless you live under a rock you surely would have heard the name before. My problem was I never actually came across it until I saw it in Noosa recently. When you are vegan, you can’t deny there are certain life pleasures you miss when you convert to being plant based, whether you admit it or not. Sometimes, they linger more than others. I wouldn’t say I was a huge ice-cream lover, but as a treat I would love some peppermint choc chip ice-cream from time to time. I have seen some vegan ice-creams I have liked, but when you do come across another type, it can be such a novelty I always get so excited to try it. Now I love coconuts, so the thought of having a non-soy based ice-cream was definitely something I had to try. So the first time I got one (yes I went back, daily… what? I was on holidays after all) and I just got plain cocowhip with a toasted muesli on top. The flavour is delicous with the coconut flavour being a lot more subtle than I expected. It was incredibly creamy, not overly sweet and felt very light. I was hooked! Then when I got back to my hotel I looked up what was actually in and was shocked… wait, it’s healthy?

Yep, coconut water, basically it is some for of magical witchcraft… however they make it, it’s amazing. So next time you happen to see somewhere selling it, run, don’t walk…
