doTERRA Lemon Essential Oil- Everyday usage!

Lemon Essential oil for me was one of the first oils I really started using on a regular basis. Now this beautiful oil is a part of my life every single day and I wanted to share that with you. My greatest fear is that you were to purchase these amazing oils and then have them collect dust as you were too scared or intimidated to use them.
Lemon essential oil is a great starter to get you used to using essential oils. The oil itself comes from the lemon rind and when you first inhale it you do get a huge rush of the famous citrus scent.

Top Favourite Uses:
In a glass of hot water first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. Using essential oil instead of the actual lemon means you get the same detoxing properties of the lemon but without the citric acid, which can damage tooth enamel.
To wake myself up in the morning when I first hop in the shower I put a small amount of magnesium salts in my hand, with some coconut oil and a few drops of Lemon Essential Oil and mix it together. I then rub this all over my body as a scrub BEFORE I turn the shower on. Once I have done that, then the water goes on and the steam sends that amazing fresh lemon scent right through my bathroom and I am energised and ready to go for my day! My skin is smooth and I am bright eyed and bushy tailed.
Another way to wake me up is when I am feeling tired in the morning and I need to really get moving I will diffuse both lemon and peppermint whilst I race around getting ready. This is the most supercharged fresh scent out there and really gets my mind racing!
To bring out the flavour in your cooking, I add to my guacamole, desserts and salad dressings.
As an air freshener. In a spritzer bottle with water, lemon oil works as an air deodoriser and I can either spritz or diffuse for a fresh scent.
If you are starting to feel tired at that old 3pm slump grab your bottle of Lemon essential oil and put a couple of drops into the palm of your hand and rub your hands together. Now cup them over your nose and mouth and take a nice deep breath. This simple inhalation method for when you are on the run will be much better for you than your coffee or even worse chocolate!
Lemon is also good to diffuse if you feel like you are coming down with a cold or if you have a stuffy nose or allergies as it will help clear your airways.
If you are craving something sweet I often with put a drop into a cold mineral water as my drink and it feels like I am having something much fancier (and naughtier) which helps with my cravings.

Referring to the “Emotions and Essential Oils” books Lemon is the Oil of Focus which nourishes the mind and aids concentration. This oil can help improve one’s ability to focus on one thing at a time (something I really need help with) and is also helpful to restore mental fatigue. Lemon helps calm fears and insecurities whilst restoring confidence in the Self.

There are so many reasons why I love this oil and I actually just keep finding more ways to use it! A great oil to start with, plus this one is super cheap.

If you would like to find out how you can get hold of some of these amazing oils you either email me at or you can check out my team’s Facebook page and learn how you can be a part of our The Holistic Oil Collective. This is going to be the place where you can learn how to incorporate essential oils into your everyday lives. My goal and dream is for essential oils to be in everyone’s home!

When it comes to what brand essential oils I use, I only ever use and recommend doTERRA essential oils. In my opinion, these are the highest grade and quality, other oils contain fillers and I do not trust to put them in or on my body. I always do need to say at the end of any of my posts about doTERRA essential oils, is that the oils themselves are Certified Therapeutic Graded Oils and they do say that are safe to consume BUT as I am going to be a qualified Naturopath I am not able to officially recommend you consume them. I know I personally do but this is just something I need to mention each time I mention the oils. So please use them at your own discretion.

Have you used Essential Oils before? Is this something you are interested in?
