Review: Kimchi from Peace Love & Vegetables
Have you heard the buzz ingredient Kimchi? Kimchi is a traditional fermented Korean delicacy which is made from vegetables including cabbage as well as spices. To me kimchi is the spicy sister of sauerkraut, loaded full of good bacteria which is beneficial for a healthy gut. The brand I recently tried was from Peace Love and Vegetables and is from their Super-Kraut range. What I love about it is the flavour first and foremost, which with the inclusion of turmeric and sweet potato, two of my favourite ingredients this kimchi is just delicious. As Kimchi is quite spicy you only need about 1 tablespoon per serve, another point I love is how fine this is already grated, so I can gently incorporate this delicacy into my meal. I think it is incredibly important to include many prebiotic foods into your daily meal plan to really achieve optimal health and wellbeing. Not only do we want to give our body good bacteria in the form of probiotics but we also want to help feed that good bacteria to help it colonise and flourish within our digestive system.
